SCOTTSVILLE The Allen County Sheriffs Department is searching for a 17-year-old boy who has been missing since Sept. 17, according to the department. James Jake Etherington, 17, of Scottsville last was seen the morning of Sept. 17 by his mother, Elizabeth Etherington, as she left for work. When she returned to their 7214 Bowling Green Road home, she found his backpack and clothes also were missing, she said. Jake Etherington, who has been entered into a nationwide computer database as a missing child, has never left home unannounced before, she said. He is about 6-feet tall and weighs around 185 pounds. Anyone who comes in contact with him is encouraged to contact law enforcement. I want to know that hes alive and all right, Elizabeth Etherington said.
